Ashby Bowls Club - Public Open Day

Sunday 28th April Ashby de la Zouch Bowling Club Public Open Day - 12PM to 4PM Ashby Bowling Club is opening its club to the public, come along and have a go! No bowls required, but please wear flat (no heel) shoes/trainers. Refreshments will be available. All are welcome (young and old, ladies and gentlemen). Bowls Coaching is also available from our qualified coach, Friday evenings at 6PM. The Green, Bath Grounds, entrance off Prior Park Road, LE65 1BJ. Meet the Easter Animals

Join us at this small animal handling session to meet our Easter chicks, stroke Betty the hen, see the Easter bunny, feed the goats and stroke the guinea pigs. Please book to avoid disappointment.
Costumed Guided Walk

Walks at 11.30 am to 1.00 pm and 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm Children and adults alike can enjoy the magic and mystery behind the history of the Battle of Bosworth on 22nd August 1485 on this walk led by a costumed Guide in full character. Join one of our experienced Guides for an informative 2 km guided walk exploring the Battle of Bosworth, the death of King Richard III and the unlikely victory of Henry Tudor. There is another Costumed Guided Walk on Tuesday 30th July.

Hobby Horse Making Event

Hobby Horse Making has proven to be so popular at the Whistlewood Music Festival that we have decided to run a workshop dedicated to making them! Made with willow for the stick, a sock head and then lots of imagination (and choice of materials for eyes, ears, nostrils and bridles). A small amount of simple sewing will be involved which we hope all will get involved with! Once our Hobby Horses come to life and are named we will discuss care of our horses and will go for a quick canter round the site. We may even have a race!...
