Ennstone Trail and Moira Furnace

Published: 24th August 2016

A walk of around 45 to 60 mins, nearly all good firm paths and taking in the Ennstone and Ashby Woulds Heritage Trails, Moira Furnace and part of the Ashby Canal. This is a great family walk with plenty of interesting sights, including the Lime Kilns, Moira Furnace and the Bath Yard Basin and the lock that leads down to it. If you wish to stop for refreshments en route you can choose from either the National Forest Youth Hostel or The Hub café at Moira Furnace. To reach the start of the walk leave Ashby by Kilwardby Street and proceed straight on to Moira. Keep straight through Moira and follow the road round a sharp right bend before turning right after Via Devana to park at Conkers Waterside entrance. Postcode is DE12 6BA.
